Death Note Episode 12

 Light, now known to the world as Kira, meets with L and the SPK. The team plays a tape of Light asking a reader to kill Misa's parents' killer in order to test his analytical skills. L then sends out a tape with his voice and Light's ordering Misa to reveal herself to the world and identify as "Misa Amane, the Second Kira". Rem explains how shinigami can die while protecting a human they deem important. In order to save Misa from death, Rem must not only protect her but also make sure she is never found out by humans. She then narrates the story of Gelus, a shinigami who saved Misa's life when she was threatened by an abusive stalker, but sacrifices himself in order to do so.

Misa Amane is an up and coming model and idol who makes a contract with the shinigami Ryuk in order to obtain the Death Note, which she uses to kill criminals. Light is initially drawn by her beauty, but later begins to suspect her of being another Kira. He enlists L's help in investigating her, and their suspicions grow when Misa admits to being a Kira worshipper after their arrest. With Light's assistance, L discovers her as the second Kira. However, her death would be pointless, as both she and Light are unable to be freed from their contracts. Rem had made both of them forget about the existence of Shinigami in such a way that if she died or was killed it would be undone. Instead, L arrests Misa for being an accessory to murder and tells her to stop using the note. Misa agrees to cooperate with him on the condition that he finds a way for her to see Light again without revealing his identity as Kira.

When a teenage girl kills herself after being humiliated on a chat show, Misa the Death Note killer with a note in her hand. The police question Misa who reveals that she is the second Kira, and wants to meet the first Kira. However, Light was not planning on another Kira, and has no idea how to deal with her.

When the Death Note is stolen by a human who then uses it to kill criminals, the death god Ryuk senses his boredom and visits him. He reveals that the human can live longer if he continues to use the notebook. He also warns that humans who use it can never return to the Shinigami Realm.

This is a great DVD. I would recommend it to anyone that likes anime or even those who don't. It's got something for everybody, comedy, mystery, and action! The plot is amazing and never drags. The characters are funny and serious when they need to be. I thought that the Death Note was kind of hard to follow at first, but it didn't take long for it to become really interesting. If you haven't seen the Death Note anime before (and even if you have), check out the first volume of the Death Note Relight Specials. You won't be disappointed!
